Sri Lanka and Thailand Ink Free Trade Agreement to Boost Economy

Thailand and Sri Lanka signed a Free Trade Agreement to help Sri Lanka get better from a big money crisis. This deal is about making more chances for business, and talks about trading goods, investing, how customs work, and rules about creating and owning ideas.

Sri Lanka is making new trade agreements to help its economy grow after a hard year. The country’s economy went down because it didn’t have enough foreign money, causing a big financial problem. Thailand’s Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, came to Sri Lanka to sign a trade deal and celebrate Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day.

After signing the trade deal, Srettha said it’s a big chance for both countries to do more business together. They want companies to look into trading and investing more with each other. They also made a new deal about flights between the two countries. Trade between Sri Lanka and Thailand was worth $460 million in 2021.
